Good baby Shower games to play

Baby showers are traditionally thrown to celebrate the imminent arrival of a first baby in to a family. They can be held by anyone close to the family, but shouldn’t be hosted by the mother-to-be, who should use this occasion as an ideal time to relax and have fun before her baby arrives!
Baby showers are usually girly-packed nights of fun, laughter and chat, where gifts are brought and there are games to play. It should be a high-energy night of fun for all involved! So here are a few ideas of games to play at your baby shower to help take the pressure off the organiser:

1.

Guess the Mummy’s tummy size- This game will undoubtedly create a lot of laughs and a great deal of fun! Everyone needs to have a long piece of wool or string, which they then cut to the size that they think will fit around the mum-to-be’s tummy. The person who is closest to the mum’s real tummy size wins a small prize.
2.

Baby-item alphabet- Everyone will have fun playing this baby shower game, as people try to think of an item of baby equipment that begins with each letter of the alphabet. If you take turns going round the room there are bound to be some ridiculous items listed from people desperate to think of a baby item beginning with X!
3.

Pin the baby on the mummy- A baby shower adaptation of pin the tail on the donkey. This game to play at your baby shower requires a large sheet of paper (or a few sheets stuck together) on which someone draws an outline of a pregnant woman. Each participant then takes turn to pin a picture of a baby on to the outline; the person who gets the baby closest to the actual baby’s position wins a small prize.
4.

Baby Guess Who- This baby shower game necessitates each guest to provide the hostess with their own baby photograph prior to the baby shower. The hostess should then photocopy all of the photos on to a sheet of paper. When the guests arrive each should be given a sheet of the photographs and under each one should write the name of the person who they think the baby photo belongs to. This is a great ice-breaker if some of the guests have not met before!

5.

Don’t say “Baby”- This is probably one of the toughest games to play at a baby shower! At the start of the evening all the guests are given about ten buttons or other small objects. No-one is allowed to say “baby” throughout the whole evening. If someone says “baby” and you note their mistake first then you get to take one of their buttons. The person with the most buttons at the end of the evening wins a prize.

This selection of games to play at your baby shower should create a fabulous night for minimum effort. Have fun!
