I have a book out that will help young parents ask for help! Help Is Not a Four-Lette Word: Why Doing It All Is Doing You In published by McGraw Hill. It explores a newly identified self-defeating behavior I call The Self-Sufficiency Syndrome where many of us can't ask for help, do everything all by ourselves, can't delegate cause no one else can do it as well and we're headed for burnout!

Our culture says it's a weakness to ask for help and many of our new parents have neen raised to believe this. Others have come from backgrounds where they never learned to trust and this severe behavior becomes a safe haven!

I outline where this came from - how it negatiely affects us and what we can do about it.
I also offer a free Tip of the Week from my website - www.helpisnotafourletterword.com

Here's the motivating question for me: Do you want your new baby to live this isolated, severe independence? Or do you want to teach this child to be interdependent - asking for help when needed but self-sufficient to act on their own as well? they deserve to be able to ask! That's life fulfillment!
